Do you have any headcanons or thoughts about your WOL's relationship with G'raha Tia?

yes! in io's main verse, g'raha is her lover officially as of shadowbringers. she had a crush on him ever since the crystal tower raid series, and though after he sealed himself in the tower and she flitted from crush to crush, her heart was always set on the seeker. she had an inkling of the crystal exarch's true identity, and when the reveal came, it wasn't too long after the elimination of the eternal light that they finally decided to get together.

of course, i'm not going to push wolg'raha on anyone, but this is just her main verse-i'm open to other ships with her (especially from the characters she's had crushes on/flings with)

14 verse!suzaku has more of a bro-type relationship with g'raha, typical of a wol who doesn't necessarily have romantic feelings for him. he indulges in g'raha's fancy for adventure, particularly with the myths of the realm raid series, knowing how much the other man wanted to be like him (much as he thinks that was a huge misconception). regardless, suzaku cares a lot about g'raha, and counts him as part of his little found family within the scions.

io grew up in the capital city of garlemald for the first half of her life, before her family managed to get her out of ilsabard when the calamity hit. she gradually made her way into eorzea afterwards, and ended up in the black shroud where she met another clan of keepers-a split-off from the larger kataapoh clan. io lived with them before two years before tragedy struck: slavers had either captured or killed her newfound family.

from there, she swore to leave the shroud behind, and left south for ul'dah, where she heard black magic was practiced and taught. her parents had advised her to take it up after coming to eorzea to hide her background knowledge of magitek, so she went. but much more suited to colder climes, she nearly caught heatstroke in the thanalan desert, and was saved by a local trader named yoyosomi somi. the two bonded well, and remain great friends to this day, with io even seeing the lalafell almost like a mother. when coming to limsa lominsa shortly after achieving excellent repute in ul'dah, she was guided to the bismarck after asking around for a place to eat. though an expensive meal, at the restaurant she met two more soon-to-be friends: caragai dazkar and deep valley. she kept in contact with the two after having a lovely chat over her food, with the two helping to provide her with raw materials from their job as culinarians to help support her over the course of her journey.

suzaku:

born in kugane, suzaku lived a mostly sheltered life, with his only contact with another person outside of his family being a hingan hyur who taught him his swordsmanship. regardless, at seven summers, he encountered new friends when sneaking out to the ijin district-a trio of siblings from ishgard, two elezen girls and a viera boy. the boy, named lelouch, grew very close to suzaku, more than his sisters though he was good friends with all of them. one day, they decided to go out on an adventure to the ruby sea, but unfortunately were caught by red kojin, who took them back to the isle of zekki where they were preparing to summon a manifestation of their god. but due to lacking much of the sacred treasures needed, susano resided in the body of lelouch's sister, turning her bloodthirsty and forcing the young viera to slay her. seeing a gruesome sight, suzaku attacked him in turn, making the viera flee kugane with his remaining sister. sour over it for many years, suzaku remained there for many years, until finally hear about the calamity and learning about how it affected eorzea. wanting to do something, he went there to see if he could help anyone, and found himself in ul'dah where he could learn the eorzean way of the sword as a gladiator. it wasn't too long before he eventually found lelouch again, and though their relationship was severely broken, they eventually managed to mend it and get back together as now lovers.

DARK KNIGHT.

as his main job, being DRK is very important to suzaku from the start, he eagerly accepted the path of the abyss due to his personality shift immediately after arr and learning about fray’s end before starting his journey. doing the 30-50 questline during hw was a very pivotal time for him, as he was learning how to deal with the betrayal from the end of arr much in the way that alphinaud was, at the same time as all the events in 3.0 hw.

it was about learning to deal with the reignited hatred he hadn’t felt since euphemia’s death years ago, as well as reconciling with his definition of a “hero” and his image of himself. the lvl50 job quest was then so important, with him accepting that side of himself (though hed going on to battle with it further bc of zenos).

as for the rest of the questline, he and sidurgu did NOT get along at first, interestingly enough, due to him at first seeing suzaku as this blind, sophist hero due to his reputation and him being a raen, but as he mended his relationship with rielle in the 50-60 quests they slowly became cordial with each other and become sort of friends.

lastly, the stb questline. hoo boy. as i said before, suzaku startled wrestling with his inner darkness again when he though he saw something similar in zenos, and myste took highkey advantage of that in the questline. but by the time of “our compromise”, he comes to terms with the fact that he will never be like that, not even in his darkest moments, and comes to terms with both myste and fray as well. he continues to uphold the abyss even through endwalker and beyond, tying up the zenos thing too in a neat little bow (though fighting him as rpr).

so tl;dr: the dark knight job is very very important to suzaku

suzaku ffxiv verse information

born under the kururugi family line, suzaku grew up in an average raen boy's life in kugane, learning his manners alongside his swordsmanship. his mother disappeared under mysterious circumstances when he was just seven summers, and though he was still with his father genbu, suzaku was far closer to his kendo teacher, tohdoh, a hingan hyur. his life would change forever but a few years later, when a trio of young children came to live in the ijin district. three ishgardians, made up of two elezen cousins and an adopted viera brother. their names were euphemia, nunnally, and lelouch, respectively. suzaku grew close to all three of them, learning how they were effectively abandoned by their father and were sent here, as he told them of his own background. the four grew to be close friends, with suzaku and lelouch becoming especially close. one day, this happiness would unfortunately come to an end. euphemia had learned of sui no sato, the raen village beneath the ruby sea, and wanted to see what it was like considering that it was where suzaku's mother came from. though hesitant, suzaku and lelouch went through with the plan with her, nunnally staying behind in kugane as she was still too young. the children did their best, but despite even being able to cross the sea, they could not go below the waters, and instead ended up in the land of the red kojin. the kojin would let them live...however, only if they would succumb to the worship of their kami. euphemia was the first to be tempered, to which she attempted to attack lelouch under the influence of the god susano. out of defense he killed her, but suzaku had only seen that moment of the viera striking his own adoptive sister down. he reacted on impulse, accusing him of murder and attacking him back. they got lucky that they had been tracked by suzaku's father, who brought them back to kugane, but both lelouch and nunnally were gone by the next morning. genbu rationalized this as meant to happen, a punishment for trying to go out into the ruby sea, and in response suzaku attacked his own father, the fight escalating to the point where he accidentally killed the older au ra. when it was discovered by suzaku's teacher, he covered it up for him as a suicide, under disgrace of allowing his son to go along with such a thing. suzaku would then stay with tohdoh and distant relatives for the next several years, until he was old enough to leave kugane on his own. learning of the eorzean way of the sword being taught in ul'dah's gladiatorum, suzaku decided that that was where he was going to start, not only on his own personal journey of life, but on his quest to find lelouch again. little did he know how this decision would come to change the star forever.

in this verse, he's a transfer student from shinjuku at touya and yukito's school, as well as being half chinese (on his mom's side). due to growing up at a shrine, he's fully aware of magic, but only vaguely aware of the clow cards.
